Local "Home-made" video featured on Good Morning America
October 12th, 2009
On Tuesday of this past week the CNP hosted a workshop on “Utilizing Visual Images to tell Your Story”, with Darrell Stalvey of WRCB TV, Dave Porfiri of Mindflow and Mike Wadel of Wadel and Associates as guest speakers. We saw fantastic examples of the power of video storytelling, and heard of the impact such videos make in community outreach, donor engagement, and so on.
We also recently co-hosted, with AVA, a class on making and editing your own videos. AVA, for those of you who may not know this, rents camera equipment and has a complete video lab that can be used by the public.
This morning I saw an example of a “home- made” video that blew me away. Produced by the staff of the TC Thompson Childrens’ Hospital Foundation, utilizing a home video camera, the video was featured on Good Morning America recently as part of their “Three Words” segments. Hats off to them, and watch for more workshops on this emerging trend in the nonprofit world.
