  • Educate Us, Inc is recruiting for open board member positions to serve on the Board of Directors and Standing Committees.  There are also opportunities to serve as Project Leader on current projects.  We are looking for board members with a passion for youth and education.  Current skill sets desired include project management, marketing, fundraising, financial planning, public relations, and business plan development.  The basic commitment involves active participation in monthly meetings and additional time commitments to achieve organizational goals.

    Educate Us, Inc. is a grass-roots, 501-C3 non-profit organization with a focus of advocacy and parent education on matters affecting the quality of education received by disabled youth.  Educate Us offers advocacy training and information covering IDEA laws, state regulations governing special education, IEP development and identification of public services and programs.  Educate Us provides services and programs designed to enhance and address disparities in the areas of technology, literacy, authorship, workforce readiness, and education.

  • Greater Chattanooga Aspies is seeking a few advisory board members, who are (1) mental health/medical professionals who work with adults with high functioning Autism/Asperger Syndrome or (2) adults who live with AS/HFA or know someone close to them who is an adult with AS/HFA.  The mission statement of GCA is to "provide support opportunities to adults with AS/HFA" in the greater Chattanooga area.  The purpose of the GCA Advisory Board is to help give direction to GCA in serving the adult AS/HFA population in the Chattanooga area.   
    There is no fundraising involved for the Board, or an amount someone must give to GCA to serve on the Board.  Rather, this is an opportunity for anyone who wants to become more involved a locally based orrganization and with the AS/HFA community in the Chattanooga area. The Board meets the second Thursday of every other month, beginning at 6:45 PM.

  • The Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee seeks professionals in Chattanooga to serve on its board of directors to help with the governance of the organization. The purpose of the board members is to ensure that the Epilepsy Foundation meets its corporate responsibilities and works in the most effective manner to achieve its mission.

    Qualifications include a commitment to the epilepsy movement. Commitments include attending six meetings a year and contributing both time and at least $100 annually to the organization. Board members serve a three year term. Benefits include professional development, networking and knowing that you are helping a great cause.     • The Chattanooga Film Society is a newly incorporated group dedicated to elevating the film culture in Chattanooga with a five year goal of launching a major film festival here. We are looking for board members who have a passion for film and who have expertise, connections and/or resources in the following areas:  fundraising, marketing, event coordination and arts management. St. Andrews Center is a faith-based, urban, multi-cultural center founded in 2004 that serves as a catalyst for arts and education, faith and food initiatives, and civic engagement.   • The Board of Pro Re Bona Day Nursery is seeking board members in the areas of IT, Special Grants, and Construction.

  • Four Points Inc. is currently looking for board members with a strong connection to North Georgia, a commitment to children and families and with skills in marketing, public relations, and fundraising.  However, if you feel you have other strengths and have a desire to serve, please contact us so that we can talk about service.  They presently have a very small board and are looking to double in size in the next year and want to make sure that we nominate people who are committed to working and serving our agency and its clients.   • PAR (Preparation Assessment Response) Foundation is currently seeking community members to actively serve on their Board of Directors.  Prior board training or prior board service is preferred but not essential if accompanied with passion and energy.  Experience in the areas of board management, marketing, community connections and funding are needed.
