FACT SHEET

WHAT WE DO:

The Center for Nonprofits is a management service organization offering workshops, tailored training sessions, consultation services, planning and facilitation, board development, online resources and a library dedicated to excellence in nonprofit management.

 

MISSION:

United Way’s Center for Nonprofits’ mission is to help nonprofit organizations operate more efficiently and effectively in achieving their missions.

 

HISTORY:

Responding to the growing need for a comprehensive nonprofit management assistance program, United Way of Greater Chattanooga opened the doors of the Center for Nonprofits in 1999 to provide capacity-building services to area nonprofit organizations. 

 

 

CUSTOMERS:

Today, the Center for Nonprofits has more than 240 member organizations from East Tennessee and North Georgia. Nonprofit staff and board members alike benefit from the training and consulting services and growing array of resources available through the Center.

 

 

PURPOSE AND VISION:

The Center’s programs are designed to help nonprofits operate more efficiently and effectively in achieving their missions and ultimately serving the greater community. The Center was founded upon the values of accountability, inclusiveness, responsiveness and a community focus. These values drive its programming today.
