Executive Director- Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, Inc.
Mission: To facilitate healing for victims of sexual assault and their families through on-going crisis intervention services; to promote community awareness of the Center's services; to educate our students and community about the nature of sexual assault; and, to foster strong partnerships with all agencies involved in dealing with sexual assault. Guiding Principles: The Sexual Assault Center is Committed to: 1) Serving all survivors and those supportive of them at any time regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, income, ability, religion, or geography. 2) Creating a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for survivors and their families. 3) Providing timely access to services and programs. 4) Working to end the silence surrounding sexual violence. 5) Educating our community to the realities of sexual violence and it's impact on the entire community.6) Fostering strong partnerships with law enforcement, hospital staff, and criminal justice agencies.
The Executive Director position involves managing the overall operations in the Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia, Rome and Ft. Oglethorpe offices. The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of operations such as budgets, grants, and contract reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage overall operations in the Rome and Ft. Oglethorpe offices to include:
- Create and monitor the overall agency budget as well as each individual contract budgets
- Manage day to day expenditures in house including paying agency bills, tracking expenses and reporting to board treasurer
- Supervise all agency staff to include hiring, training and regular evaluation
- Complete all contract reports within the required time frames and maintain communication with all contract entities
- Conduct community education as needed
- Research grant opportunities and write grants when possible
- Attend executive and full board meetings monthly
- Complete monthly status report and present at monthly board meetings
- Participate in contractor meetings, staff meetings, monthly board meetings, volunteer meetings, and other organizational events/meetings
- Attend State and Federal training conferences and meetings
- Serve as a back-up crisis responder for victims of sexual assault
Qualifications:
- At least three years management experience in a social service setting
- Experience with budgets and tracking finances
- Grant writing experience is preferred
- Ability to resolve conflict, mediate difficult situations, and work in a team oriented environment
- Well-organized, attention to detail, self-directed, highly motivated, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Experience working with victims of sexual assault is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Access
- Proficient with QuickBooks financial software
