Job Description
Major Responsibilities
The Executive Director is responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors for the effective and efficient financial, operational and administrative management of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area [HFHGCA] affiliate. The Director provides overall leadership for the affiliate in accordance with the policies, objectives and directions of the affiliate Board of Directors to promote the overall vision, direction, health and growth of the affiliate.
General Administration
Acts effectively and efficiently in a dynamic and constantly changing environment while implementing the affiliate’s strategic plan and national policies. Designs, recommends and implements financial, operational and administrative programs. Performs screening, hiring and termination of staff. Provides direction, training, guidance and supervision for staff, interns and volunteers. Overall responsibility for daily office operations, implementation of affiliate policies, fiscal control, accountability, budget reporting and operational and building expenditures. Provides execution of all grant and contract performance requirements. Supports board in evaluation, goal setting and strategic planning while assisting the Board Chair in setting the agenda for Board meetings, attends Board meetings and provides reports of all affiliate activities to the Board.
Leadership for Development and Marketing
Provides primary leadership in networking, collaboration and community engagement. Supervises grants and other application processes to augment funding for overhead costs and home construction. Works closely with the Development Committee to establish and implement a resource development strategy. Represents the affiliate to all interested communities and community partnerships. Provides positive and on-going visibility of the HFHGCA affiliate in the communities served and funding communities.
