Position: Development Internship
Terms: Part-time, 15 hours week, time flexible
Pay: Internship Hourly rate, $8 per hour
Job Description:
Crabtree Farms is offering a PAID Development Internship over the summer 2008.
· Computer savvy person to manage constituent information in Sage Database software.
· Perform grant research to identify potential resources and grant writing to meet the growing needs for programs.
· Assist with Membership Campaign- solicitation mailings, correspondences, and thank you materials.
· Coordinate membership events.
· Represent Crabtree Farms at outreach events and speaking engements
· There is a potential based on interest and experience into communications (mailings, posters, website development).
Qualifications:
This position is ideal for a college student or degree candidate who would like to grow their knowledge and experience in the Development field. This position will train an intern on the key steps involved in raising money through a membership campaign and grants. This will provide invaluable hands-on experience. This is ideal for someone who desires a flexible schedule and would like part-time employment. The qualified candidate will be self-motivated and familiar with development work. This valued position is an integral member of the staff and must be willing to work as a team member and carry out the mission of Crabtree Farms in all aspects of the position.
· Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Email, database entry. Ability to type is required.
· Friendly, outgoing personality
· Organized and good multi-tasker
· Detail oriented
This position reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is a three month temporary position. After three months (or before) there will be an evaluation to decide to keep, expand or abolish the position, based on the needs of the organization and the performance of the new hire.
About Crabtree Farms
Crabtree Farms is a research and education project in sustainable agriculture. The Urban Farm is the central program of Crabtree Farms; other programs include educational workshops and a community garden. Crabtree Farms strives to educate the community through demonstration of small-scale sustainable farming and through providing fresh, nutrient rich locally grown produce to the community. Crabtree Farms is a 3 season farm.
